... I know. Bad English, ending with a preposition. I've no desire to be formal in a casual reply... though I'm kinda being formal right there... bugger.
Three Days Grace is a good band, as is Seether, though they tend to be on the more despondent side of rock... "Lie" by Black Light Burns is a pretty good song, especially if you need something to get you a little amped (also rock), and the Blue Man Group has some good stuff, though it's all "instrumental"... She Wants Revenge has some interesting lyrics, though you kinda have to like (or learn to like) the monotone of the lyrics... Unwritten Law has some good stuff too, though I can't say I've heard beyond a couple songs. If you like them, the new Linkin Park album's good, too.
Forgot to mention this... Snow Patrol also has some good stuff. More on the Alt.Rock side, but yeah, still rock, given that it's coming from me.... lol... Coldplay'd probably be my first suggestion to really stray anywhere from the rock world, and that's not that much, even.
Good god, the new White Stripes (Icky Thump) is UTTERLY AMAZING. I also recommend Hot Chip (The Warning), TV on the Radio, The Klaxons, and of course, classic stand-bys such as The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (second album's better).

right now i'm listening to Poe. i highly recommend her album Haunted.
